I am busy right now making stoles for pastors and lay leaders to see and hopefully buy at United Methodist Annual Conference that is being held in Baton Rouge in June. I started making stoles several years ago when our pastor at the time was moving to another church. The staff at the church wanted to give him something special and unique. My daughter, Kelly and I decided to take pictures of the stainglass windows in our sanctuary and digitize them so I could stitch them on the stole. These windows are at the back of the balcony and when our pastor is at the pulpit he sees them. It was so much fun seeing these windows come to life as I stitched them on the cloth.

We also got the signatures of everyone that had worked with him in the ten years that he was at our church. We digitized them and stitched a parting wish for him and signed their names to the inside the stole.

I am making more stoles of different designs to sell at the Annual Conference. I am also hoping that people that attend will see my stoles and want me to design a special stole unique to their church. I will post other stole soon.

what is a sussy?

a sussy is a gift for no specific reason

who am i?

I’m a wife of 33 1/2 years, mother to three, and a crafter at heart. I grew up next door to my grandparents who were the ultimate crafters and their love was instilled into my way of life. Our children have been a joy to our lives and we are thankful for each of them. Our oldest daughter Kelly has been married to David S. for almost 6 years. They are photograghers and specialize in wedding photography. Stacy is our second child and lives in Lafayette,La. She is also a photogragher and enjoys writing poetry. Our son Brandon lives in Sugar Land, Tx and works as an Electric Engineer at Flour. I quit my job of 9 years in retail to have more time to nourish my soul by doing things I love such as sewing, embroidery, quilting, and of course spending more time with my husband and family. My husband,David, retired last September from working at Exxon refinery where he has worked for the past 33 years. We have had fun adjusting to life as a retired couple. It has been great.
