Stole I made for a Tisdale United Methodist Church in Kansas

I just found out that the stole I finished this week reached it’s destination safely. I always feel uncomfortable until I know it got there.

I made this stole as a gift for their pastor who is leaving. They chose the stole by seeing one that I had made before. They also wanted a message and signatures of 7 members of the church embroidered in the lining of the stole.

It is great to have the opportunity to be a part of making this a special time in their church and the Pastor’s life.

Sharon,
I can only try to express my gratitude for the beautiful stole you made for our pastor. She was so surprised when she opened her gift, seeing this gorgeous blue stole was almost too much for her. After I read the message we wrote to her, that you had so beautifully stitched on the inside of the stole, she had to just excuse herself and sit down. She was speechless. It was a wonderful experience working with you. Thank you very much for putting up with all my questions and specifications on this stole. Many blessing to you!

who am i?

I’m a wife of 35 1/2 years, mother to three, and a crafter at heart. I grew up next door to my grandparents who were the ultimate crafter's and their love was instilled into my way of life. Our children have been a joy to our lives and we are thankful for each of them. Our oldest daughter Kelly has been married to David S. for almost 8 years. They are photogragher's and specialize in wedding photography. Stacy is our second child and lives in Baton. She is also a photogragher and enjoys writing poetry. She works at Best Deal Milworks as their website Admin and office Manager. Our son Brandon moved back to Baton Rouge and is currently looking for a job. He graduated from LSU in Electrical Engineering.I am enjoying time to nourish my soul by doing things I love such as sewing, embroidery, quilting, and of course spending more time with my husband and family. My husband,David, retired September two years ago from working at Exxon refinery where he has worked for the past 33 years. We have had fun adjusting to life as a retired couple. It has been great.
